Python

The Python is a black coil that lives in a Python Pit. You do not fold it, feed it, or command it β€” like the wild Parrots of a Pious Perch, the snake answers to no commander. It simply waits in its hole, and squirms out at trespassers.

What happens next depends on the trespasser’s size. Prey at or under 150 HP gets swallowed whole β€” an instant kill, no damage math, no counterplay once the jaws close β€” and the Python drags the bulge home to its Pit to digest. Bigger prey it constricts and bites, chipping away with steady melee damage until the target dies or escapes, then abandons the grudge and slithers back. It strikes only what walks; fliers pass over the pit unmolested.

  • Free and popless β€” costs nothing, counts against no fold cap, and the Pit replaces a lost snake in time.
  • Swallow threshold: 150 HP β€” workers, line infantry, Poachers, wounded elites: all snake food. Check your HP before you walk past a hole.
  • The Plumper Python upgrade on its Pit fattens the serpent: +50% HP, and it heals twice as fast at home.

Strategy

The Python is area denial in animal form. Its swallow makes it uniquely lethal for its price: a tower deals damage, but a Pit by your Pitch Pools simply removes the enemy workers and raiders that wander in, one gulp at a time. Seed Pits along harass routes, at unwatched expansions, and in the seams between your defenses β€” anywhere the enemy expects to sneak something small. Against it, respect the threshold: scout Pits before ferrying workers past, lead with a fold too big to swallow, or snipe the Pit itself from range while the snake is dragging its last meal home.
